PARTICIPATION OF DISABLED PLAYERS „VILNIUS OPEN 2012“
FIRST OPEN LITHUANIAN CHESS AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP
RULES AND REGULATIONS
The Second International Chess Tournament “Vilnius Open 2012” and the First Open Lithuanian Chess Amateur Championship will be held from 1 - 9 December 2012, in “GREEN Vilnius Hotel”, Pilaitės St. 20, Vilnius, Lithuania.
Lithuanian and foreign chess players – including persons with disability are invited to participate in an open chess tournament. The tournament is open for chess players with disabilities (vision, hearing, mobility) without any restrictions and for chess players without disability rated less than 2000 ELO FIDE rating list on 1 January 2012 and not having FIDE titles of GM (Grandmaster), IM (International Master) or FM (FIDE Master).
Individual chess tournament will be played according to the FIDE Chess Rules in Swiss system of 9 rounds, with time control of 90 minutes for the game with an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move one.
The tournament is registered by FIDE.
The total prize fund of the tournament is 12000 litas (LTL) (1 euro = 3,45 LTL) is guaranteed if
there are more than 70 players participating in the tournament and additional prize is guaranteed if there are more than 10 players. The prize fund will be shared according to the final scores of the players:

Determining the winners
The participant with a higher final sum of points takes the higher place. In case of a tie of two or more participants the places are determined using the following tie-break system (in order of priority):
1. The Buchholz Tie-break (the Buchholz Score reduced by the lowest score of the opponents).
2. The Buchholz System (the sum of the score of each of the opponents of a player).
3. The greater number of victories.
4. FIDE - progress tie-break.
The money-prizes for 1- 3 places will be divided according to the Hort system among the players with the same final score. The prizewinners of the Lithuanian Chess Amateur Championship will receive medals and diplomas.
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
Participation entry fee if the player registered before 10 November 2012 is 100 LTL or 30 Euros.
Participation entry fee if the player registered after 10 November 2012 is 135 LTL or (40 Euros).
All travel, accommodation, meals and any additional expenses are covered by the participants themselves or by their representative organizations.
Tournament sponsor “GREEN Vilnius Hotel” offers special accommodation prices and discounts for the early registered participants. However, we were reminded that the number of low-price rooms is limited and we encourage to register in advance!
Accommodation offer at the playing venue
1. Accommodation in a shared room of 4 persons with breakfast 42 LTL or 12.5 Euros (per person/night)
2. Accommodation in a shared triple-room with breakfast 50 LTL or 14.5 Euros (per person/night)
3. Accommodation in a twin room with breakfast 60 LTL or 17.5 Euros (per person/night)
4. Accommodation in a single room with breakfast 100 LTL or 30 Euros (per person/night)
5. Accommodation in twin room with full board (three meals) for people with disability 100 LTL or 30 Euros (per person/night)
The hotel is equipped with facilities for disabled people.

Pilaitės St. 20, Vilnius, from 12.00 on 30 November till 15.00 on 1 December 2012.
